Altria Scholars

Altria Scholars is a student success program designed for first-generation business and engineering majors. Participating students receive individual support from the progress coach and have the opportunity to attend monthly social and academic support events. Students also have access to a network of peers and professionals to support their educational journey. Active participants are also eligible to apply for scholarships in their junior and senior years. 

New Altria Scholars are always welcome! To participate, students must be a first-generation college student, meaning that neither parent or guardian graduated from a four-year college or university in the United States. In addition, they must be studying business or engineering at VCU. To apply, they may attend an interest meeting during the fall semester or email Progress Coach Erin Henshaw at henshawel@vcu.edu.
